Happiness.

Bookshelves

Wide view

Brand new bookshelves -> time spent organizing and arranging my books -> getting lost in the magic that sparkles between their pages all over again -> happiness :)

There truly is nothing like a good story (and on that note, check back later this week for a review of Sarah Pekkanen’s incredible new novel, SKIPPING A BEAT – it’s so compelling that I literally can’t put it down). Reading is one of my happy places, an escape into a world that feels real, a journey that captivates, and a friend that never turns its back. What’s one of your happy places? Do you have a favorite book on your shelf?

  1. My “happy place” on my bookshelf is reserved for the publication of your first novel. You deserve it more than anyone, Shari, and in the meantime, thank you for sharing your passion for books with all of us.

    • Jena, you just made me cry! At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I truly can’t begin to tell you how much your support means. Not only are you one of the most avid readers I know, but also one of the most talented writers – and, beyond that, you’re such a wonderful friend. Thank you, a million times over, for believing in me and my writing. Without a doubt, that goes both ways :)

  2. I love the entire look: the shelves, the pastel colors of the books, the color on the wall…lol…It all looks so soothing…I’m inspired!

    • Thank you! That calm, soothing feel is definitely what I was going for when I chose the colors and decor. The NJ shore is pretty much my favorite place in all the world, so I decorated the whole space in beachy/oceany colors and themes. It inspires me every day when I sit down to write :-)
