  1. I loved….

Reading this – and you’re write, handwriting does give it a more personal touch. Plus, you have great handwriting. :)

That you mentioned NYC – that was more certainly one of the highlights of my year as well.

Your New Years Resolution. We are truly kindred spirits – last night I decided that self-worth was going to be a big part of 2015.

Reading your words and your books. I hope 2015 is a wonderful year for you. Keep trucking. I have so much faith in your book babies, and you. <3

    • You are the best! :)

NYC truly was one of my favorite days of the year. I have a framed picture from it on top of my bookshelf and always smile when I look at it. Oh gosh, and kindred spirits indeed! I have a feeling that the whole self-worth thing is a tricky balance sometimes, and I’m glad we’ll have each other as a reminder to keep on persevering. And, of course, right back at you in regard to the writing. Fingers crossed that 2015 is the year for our book babies!

  2. Such a smart, beautiful post. Your resolutions sound a LOT like mine… It’s so hard, but so important, to let go of the things we cannot control, and to validate ourselves instead of depending on validation from other people.

Here’s to learning from 2014 and making 2015 even better!

    • Thank you!

I think those resolutions go hand-in-hand, really — when so much is out of our control, it’s hard not to put a lot of emotion into the validation we get from the people who DO have a hand in determining things. I’m trying really hard to focus on what I can control, though — the hard work, the dedication, things like that — and, in turn, reminding myself that there’s something to be proud of in that, too.

      I hope your 2015 is amazing! :)

  3. I loved reading this, Shari. I’ve been following your blog for a long time and consider you one of my dearest writing friends, and I sincerely hope we get to meet someday! But even without knowing you in person, I can see that you’re so full of sunshine and kindness and positivity. There’s no way you won’t succeed with those attributes. I just know good things are coming for you, friend. Hoping that all you wish for comes true this year!

    • You are the sweetest, Julie. It’s been a rough few weeks where that positivity has been tested time and again, so your kind words mean even more than you know. And they go double for you! Wishing you all the very best in 2015! :)

  4. What a fun tradition! I’m with you on finding the joy and not stressing about things we can’t control. Life is crazy. We have to figure out how to handle the crazy in such a way that we stay sane. Here’s to the best 2015 with a side of cheese!

    • I LOVE what you wrote about handling the crazy in a way that we stay sane — holy cow, how true is that? I’ve had a trying few weeks and keep trying to remind myself of that very thing. Happy New Year, Crystal! Hope it’s great for you!

  5. I loved the handwritten entry. I think laptops were invented for people like me who can’t write legibly, so I’ll laptop it and you keep using that pen! Happy New Year!

    • Ha, sounds like a good deal! I mean, I do love my laptop, of course, but for me there’s just something special about writing by hand. Happy New Year, friend! I hope it’s a great one for you!
