Hi, I’m Shari. I write. A lot. Incessantly, in fact. And I love every minute.
I take too many pictures, but it’s because I believe they help to capture special moments in our lives as they speed by. I haven’t missed an episode of American Idol since the top ten show during season one, and I’d happily go to a Kelly Clarkson concert every month if I could. I believe that people come into our lives for a reason, often times when we need them the most. I’d spend every summer at the shore if it was possible. I have watched General Hospital for over ten years and have met some incredible people because of it. I’m all about hope and faith, but with determination and dedication thrown in, too. I’m 31, but everyone (everyone!) tells me I look younger. I love red pandas and polar bears. I’ll accept anybody’s challenge for a game of Scrabble. I believe in happily-ever-after. I think we should all be so lucky as to have friends who are family and family who are friends. I’m a dreamer. I believe in defying gravity.
Dream Big; Work Hard.
This is the phrase I live my life by. In fact, nothing could better describe my perspective and the approach I take in everything I do. I’m a big believer in the fact that no dream is too big, if you only have the drive and conviction to work hard and turn it into a reality.
For me, that dream is writing. For as long as I can remember, it’s been my passion – first journalism, and now creative writing, as well. There’s something so magical about it, about having the chance to create something from your ideas, about opening your mind and letting the words flow from your heart. One day in November of 2007, I sat down to write what I believed would be a short story. Now, seven years and thousands of pages later, I have several novels that have opened new worlds, taught new things, and shown me the true meaning of what a work of heart can be. This blog is the story of parlaying that heart-song into a full-time career. Please join in the journey!
